Dr Ramachandrappa works with NGOs for project monitoring & reviews, preparation of proposals as a project manager for the Project Nammane at IIC.
He pursued Master’s degree in Social Work and he has got more than 26 years experience in Rural and Urban development. He has worked especially in slum development along with various water and sanitation projects and social development activities. He has been involved in conducting surveys and analyses of physical and socio-economic conditions of population under poverty in slum areas. These projects have been undertaken through Community Participation and coordination with stakeholders in various stages. He has also worked in the implementation of IEC activities in various departments and projects of BWSSB, KIRWS & ESP – World Bank Assisted, BBMP, CMC’s of Chikkaballapura & Doddaballapura, State Coordinator of Child Rights Commission etc.
Dr Ramachandrappa worked as a Social Development Expert in Mythri Sarva Seva Samithi, Bangalore, for the AusAid funded BWSES Master Plan project, Bangalore. He has worked as a Social Development Expert at BWSSB, BWSSP-II, under Slum Development Component – Water & Sanitation. He has experience in preparation of Tender documents, Selection of NGOs and Implementation of Social Development Projects and one year worked as a TRAINER at Karnataka Administration Training Institute Mysore covering subjects of Urban Poverty and Women/ Children.
His motivation to work for urban homeless & other social services started when he was pursuing his Master’s degree particularly the concern towards girls’ education began right at his home with the education of girls in his family.
